WARM-UP
A share of first place in the West Division is on the line Saturday night as the Calgary Stampeders play their rivals to the east, the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Whoever prevails in the tilt will join the Edmonton Eskimos at 3-2 atop the West.
The Stampeders, losers of their first two games in 2009, are looking for a third consecutive victory. The Riders, winners of their first two outings, are trying to avoid a third consecutive defeat.
Kickoff tonight at McMahon Stadium is 7 p.m. Along with this live blog, there’ll be a live Twitter feed during tonight’s game which you can follow at StampsConnect.

FIRST QUARTER
- Stamps win the toss and defer to the second half, so the Roughriders will get the ball first
- Saskatchewan’s first play from scrimmage is a 17-yard run by Wes Cates
- Roughriders get on the board first as Darian Durant hits Chris Getzlaf from nine yards out for a touchdown
- Extra point by Luca Congi makes it 7-0 Riders
- Henry Burris finds Nik Lewis, a completion that extends Lewis’ streak of consecutive games with a catch to 92
- A promising Roughriders drive is snuffed out when Dwight Anderson picks off a Darian Durant pass
- That’s a third straight game that Anderson has recorded a pick
- Stamps’ biggest gain of the night so far comes when a play-action fake leads to a 45-yard pass from Burris to Ryan Thelwell
- Stamps get on the board when Burris hits Jon Cornish with a pass and he makes it to the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown
- Point after is good, score is tied 7-7
- The Stamps’ scoring drive was five plays for 89 yards

SECOND QUARTER
- Stamps start quarter with a 2nd and 9 at their own 7

- A quick recap — Sandro DeAngelis kicked field goals of 12 and 35 yards to give the Stampeders a 13-7 lead
- On the last play of the half, Luca Congi kicked an 18-yard field goal to cut the Stamps advantage to 13-10
- Stamps had 227 yards of offence in the first half compared to 204 for Saskatchewan
THIRD QUARTER
- The Stampeders decide to take the wind in the fourth quarter, so the Roughriders get the ball first
- Luca Congi’s attempt to tie the game with a field goal is unsuccessful and the Calgary leads remains 13-10
- A three-play, 63-yard drive by the Roughriders results in a go-ahead touchdown reception by Weston Dressler
- Extra point by Congi is good, Roughriders lead 17-13
- Darian Durant and Weston Dressler have some chemistry going as the quarter proceeds
- Quarter ends with the Riders up 17-13
- Henry Burris is 13-for-18 through three quarters for 169 yards. Durant is 13-for-20 for 193 yards
FOURTH QUARTER
- Roughriders get the benefit of a pass interference all to keep a drive alive
- Saskatchewan thought it had another touchdown but Durant was called for an illegal forward pass
- Riders settle for a 33-yard field goal try, but Luca Congi hits the upright
- Calgary retakes the lead with a nine-yard, 85-yard scoring drive
- Henry Burris does the honours, running the ball in from 18 yards out
- Extra point is good, Stamps are back ahead as it’s 20-17
- That was Burris’ 40th career rushing major
- Calgary’s Joffrey Reynolds surpasses the 100-yard mark for a second staright week and for the 21st time of his career
- DeAngelis good on a field goal attempt from 26 yards out, Stamps extend lead to 23-17
- After 13 straight makes, DeAngelis misses on a 49-yard field goal try. The Calgary lead remains six points
- Durant finds Chris Getzlaf for a 65-yard touchdown pass
- With the extra point, the Riders lead 24-23
