WARM-UP
If you like to look on the bright side of life, consider this — if the Stampeders defeat the Toronto Argonauts tonight at McMahon Stadium, Calgary will not only pick up its first victory of the young season, the club will grab a share of second place in the West Division along with the BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos.
Kickoff tonight at McMahon is at 7 p.m. If you’re coming out to McMahon, remember to bring your camera or camera-phone to snap some pictures and you could win a SIRIUS satellite radio.

FIRST QUARTER
- Stamps will get the ball to start the game
- Stamps get a first down on a pass from Henry Burris to Ken-Yon Rambo
- Calgary turns ball over when Nik Lewis fumbles
- Stamps defence stops the Argos and forces a punt
- Calgary marches the ball smartly down the field — 10 yards for 75 yards for a touchdown
- Joffrey Reynolds runs it in from the one for the major
- Henry Burris was six-for-six passing on the drive
- With his score, Reynolds takes over fifth spot on the Stampeders’ all-time rushing touchdowns list with 33. He passes Willie Burden
- Justin Medlock 15-yard field goal is good for Toronto, Calgary’s lead is cut to 7-3
- Derek Watson falls down fielding a kickoff . . . and then gets up to make a 40-yard return
- Stamps get the ball down to the Toronto 10, but a sack by the Argos’ Lin-J Shell costs them eight yards
- That’s the end of the quarter
SECOND QUARTER
- Sandro DeAngelis boots a 26-yard field goal to make it 10-3 for the Stampeders
- Tonight’s official attendance — 33,109
- Argos march the ball seven plays for 71 yards and close the gap to 10-6 thanks to a 28-yard field goal by Medlock
- Argos take advantage of a short field and set up their third field goal of the contest, this one from 25 yards
- Score is now 10-9 in favour of Stamps
- Henry Burris is now the all-time leader in rushing yards by a Stamps quarterback. He passes Jeff Garcia and now holds seventh spot overall on the Calgary list
- A wild snap on a Toronto punt attempt give the Stamps the ball in Argos territory
- Calgary has to settle for a 42-yard field goal by Sandro DeAngelis, who chips it in off the upright
- Stamps’ last-gasp chance to tack on more points before halftime just misses as Burris pass to Ryan Thelwell in the end-zone is incomplete
THIRD QUARTER
- Argos get the ball to start the second half
- Malik Jackson’s sack brings an end to the Argos’ first drive of the half
- Stampeders go two and out on their first of the half
- A huge completion to Jeremaine Copeland for 57 yards
- Reynolds with a touchdown reception to cap a four-play, 96-yard drive
- Extra point makes it 20-9 for the Stamps
- Stamps looked like theyr were in a position to add more points, but a Burris fumble and Argos recovery puts an end to a promising drive
- Toronto’s attempt to run a play in the Wildcat formation backfires as Dwaine Carpenter forces Kerry Joseph to fumble, Carpenter recovers the fumble and runs it back 55 yards for a touchdown
- Extra point is good
- Quarter ends with the Stamps up 27-9
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Stamps defence does it again — Dwight Anderson picks off a pass and runs back 52 yards for a touchdown
- With the point after, it’s 34-9 for the Stamps
- Stamps keep adding points — DeAngelis with a 42-yard field goal
- Burris gets a well deserved rest and is replaced by Barrick Nealy at quarterback
- Burris was 23 of 32 passing for 348 yards and one touchdown
- Brandon Browner with an interception and touchdown for the Stamps
- That’s three touchdowns for the Calgary defence
- Game’s over, Calgary is 1-2 and in a three-way tie for second in the West with BC and Edmonton
