Pro path

Crawford was selected by the Toronto Argonauts in the sixth round (40th overall) of the 2012 CFL draft. He was released on June 20, 2012. Crawford was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Jan. 31, 2013, and he was released on June 17, 2013. Crawford was added to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ practice roster on July 22, 2013, and he was released on Aug. 4, 2013. He then signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Aug. 31, 2013, and was released on Oct. 12, 2013. Crawford rejoined the Ticats on Sept. 3, 2014.

 

2022

(Calgary) Crawford played 17 regular-season games and served as the Stampeders’ long snapper, helping punter Cody Grace and kicker René Paredes earn CFL all-star honours. He also recorded five special-teams tackles. Crawford was on the one-game injury list in Week 14 and was Calgary’s long snapper for the Western Semi-Final.

 

2021

(Calgary) Crawford played all 14 games regular-season games and served as the Stampeders’ long snapper. He had two special-teams tackles. Crawford also played in the Western Semi-Final and recorded a special-teams tackle.

 

2020

(Hamilton) Crawford was under contract with the Tiger-Cats but the season was cancelled because of the global pandemic.

 

2019

(Hamilton) Crawford dressed for all 18 regular-season games for the Ticats, serving as the team’s long snapper. He made four special-teams tackles. Crawford also played in the Eastern Final and the Grey Cup.

Crawford played 13 games at linebacker in two seasons (2009 and 2011) at Saint Mary’s. He recorded 55.5 career tackles for the Huskies including eight tackles for loss and added 3.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. He was part of Saint Mary’s Atlantic University Sport conference championship team in 2009. In his final season with the Huskies, he recorded 33 tackles including four tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. In 2008, Crawford played junior football for the Victoria Rebels and won the team’s defensive player of the year award. He also played junior for the Chilliwack Valley Huskers and the Regina Thunder.

 

Personal

Crawford is an alumnus of Crescent Heights High School in Medicine Hat. He honed his long-snapping technique by studying film of longtime Stampeders long snapper Randy Chevrier.
