The Stampeders are proud to announce a new addition to our family!
Today, the Canadian-born talent, QB, will join our lineup. His smarts, spunk, and strength of character will no doubt prove to be an integral asset to our squad.
Hailing from the Cochrane and Area Humane Society, the 2-foot tall, 20-lb., 15-week-old is ready to take on his new position – the club’s foster dog.
According to QB, his skills include going to the bathroom outside, not barking, and being an overall ‘very good boy’ – adding he is thankful for the opportunity to be fostered ahead of finding his forever home.
“Woof, woof, woof,” QB explained.
“It’s hugely important we have volunteers, people who adopt, and of course, those who foster,” agreed Cochrane and Area Humane Society communications coordinator Janaia Hutzal. “There’s no way we could do it without our foster families. They give these animals so much love so they’re ready to go home to their forever families.”
QB’s foster mom, Kendra Watt, is a local realtor in Cochrane who is passionate about helping animals.
It’s an exciting opportunity for QB, who isn’t quite like other dogs.
“All four of his paws have some sort of deformity,” said Watt. “It doesn’t seem to slow him down at all.
“He’s super smart, he’s quiet, respectful, loving. He absolutely loves chewing on sticks, rocks and bones, and anything he can get his mouth on.”
QB’s resiliency and ability to overcome, no matter how different he is, makes him a great candidate for the Stampeders.
Of course, that’s because the Cochrane and Area Humane Society always makes sure they find a perfect match for their furry friends.
“We try and fit the animal to the family,” said Hutzell. “If you have young children, or like to travel, or don’t have a lot of time we’ll find an animal that is suitable for that.”
