Boudreaux: A great team win

David Moll

It feels good to be here on the field with the Grey Cup champs. They already have a plethora of talent — I just want to come in and add to it to help the guys get back to it. It was a great team win and I was able to show the guys that I could compete at the high level with them.

Friday night was good to get out and get some real reps. Honestly, going against our offence every day and playing this team, our offence does a good job of preparing us. Going into this game, I was prepared for it. I’m not surprised by the numbers I had because I took the time to prepare. I was in the film room a lot, I practised hard and God just put me in places to make plays and I did.

There were a couple of things I saw from their offence tonight. George Cortez was in Saskatchewan last year, so I went and watched the tape of Saskatchewan and they made similar plays today. So, some of those things I saw them do on film, I saw today, so I was able to recognize those plays early.

My teammates were amazing tonight, especially special teams. Guys were into the game tonight. Coach Huff challenged our offence, he asked them to rise to the occasion and the offence played amazing. The defence played lights out. Everybody hustled, everybody did their jobs and that’s what you ask for the preseason. Not everybody is going to make this team but everybody put good tape out there tonight and that’s what the coaches love and that’s what I love to see, too.

I just need to keep getting better now and keep progressing, keep working on my technique. It’s the little things, like getting used to a new defensive coordinator, new staff and the new techniques they are teaching. I need to be able to change what I did for the last three years in Hamilton and Saskatchewan and buy into what they are selling me here.
