I got here in the first bye week, Week 2, and was just getting better every week and got an opportunity to come in and help this team win with a great group of receivers.
We have different characters in the receiving group. We’ve got Nik (Lewis) the leader, Quay (Marquay McDaniel) who is quiet but he makes plays in games. Then there is Mo Price who will tell you how it is, young guns like me, Sederrik (Cunningham), Simon (Charbonneau-Campeau) and (Anthony) Parker. All those guys can and have made plays. It’s a great feeling to be with them and we’d all go to war with each other to make plays and try to win.
When it came to our coaches, they just had to see me do well in practice and I had to get familiar with the playbook. The playbook is pretty hard to pick up but once I grasped it, they gave me the opportunity and now it is what it is. I got the chance to play and I’m thankful for it.
I just love the game of football. I like to make plays and when it comes to big games, it doesn’t matter to me, it’s just another game.
Now it’s about repeating this as much as you can, keep stacking up those championships one on another.
When the time comes you just have to make plays and take advantage of the chances given to you. I’m just happy I could help these guys win a Grey Cup and my first one.
