Jorden: I’ve never played in snow

David Moll

I played in my first CFL game on Saturday. Coming in to play after being on the practice roster is really tough, just due to transferring up to Canada after playing in the NFL and Arena League.

It’s a totally different game with different plays, so there was definitely a learning curve, but being on the practice squad and this past week getting reps with the first-team offence really helped me out a lot with the game and feeling comfortable playing.

Seeing game action definitely felt good — other than flipping over the LED board and busting my elbow. But my first game playing in the Canadian Football League under three or four inches of snow? Go figure. I’ve never played in snow in my life!

The guys were messing with me telling me ‘You’re not gonna make any tackles on special teams.’ It’s crazy how I made two tackles, so that was good. I liked that.

Responding with a win next week is of the utmost importance. We want to win every game, but with the fact that we lost this game — a tough game — we want to make sure we come out on fire next week to get ready for the playoffs. I’m sure the coaches are going to be on us this week in practice to go hard and make sure we are in all types of situations. We need to make sure we have great game going into the playoffs.
