Cote: Not satisfied yet

Getting into the playoffs and first place in the West is far from our final goal.

We’ve won too many regular-season games this year and in recent seasons to be satisfied with that. Winning regular-season games doesn’t get me back to play every week. That’s not what gets me playing football.

I’m here, and I think everybody in this locker-room is here, for one reason and one reason only, and that’s to win our last game.

I think in the last couple weeks, we’ve had things that have brought us together in some aspects and not helped us get to our goal in others.

When you fight to finish against a good football team like the Riders, anytime that you can do that, it’s great. But we had a team down and we let them back into it by playing bad football and that’s not how you win championships.

Great to see the guys stick together, great to get a win in a hostile environment against a great team, but it’s just not good enough for us at this point. We need to take these next four weeks and focus each and every week to get better and better and better and work towards that goal.

I think this bye week is perfectly timed for us. We’ve had a long stretch, guys are all banged up, and it’ll be good to kick the feet up, recover from some injuries a little bit, and then come back for this final stretch hungry.
