For the fourth year in a row, Stampeders fans have broken the record for the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive. Fans attending Friday’s game against the BC Lions donated the equivalent of 258,000 pounds of food for the Calgary Food Bank.
“I heartily congratulate our fans for their kindness and generosity in supporting the Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive and the Calgary Food Bank,” said Stampeders president Gordon Norrie. “They’ve once again demonstrated why they are the best fans in the CFL and the team thanks them for answering the challenge to help those in need.”
Stampeders players and personnel will be visiting the Food Bank in the near future to help sort all the food that was collected as part of this year’s program.
