Getting to know Keenan MacDougall

Keenan MacDougall was selected by the Stampeders in the third round (15th overall) of the 2012 CFL Draft and played his first game on July 1 that year.

The Saskatoon native has primarily played special teams during his first two seasons with the club but has also seen duty in the secondary.

We asked Keenan to finish the following sentences with the first thing that came to his mind.

Getting drafted by the Stamps was… a weight off my shoulders because this is one of the teams I wanted to play for. It was a relief to go to a place where I wanted to go play.

I spent the off-season… training and going to school. I’m studying physiology and pharmacology and I took classes at the University of Calgary.

I will never… say never.

I have always wanted to… go travelling to Europe.

The last thing I lost was… my iPod. I never did find it.

Going to school at Saskatchewan was… a great experience to play in my hometown. It was a great coaching staff and it was fun to play with childhood friends.

High school was… the best. We were undefeated my senior year.

My first CFL game was… very memorable. A Canada Day game against Montreal, facing Anthony Calvillo. We played pretty well and I got a touchdown.

My favourite thing to do on a Sunday is… relax.

The last thing I regretted was… I don’t know. I’m not even sure. No regrets, I guess.
