Tonight was a well-fought battle. Both teams came out and no one wanted to make a mistake — we prepared all week long for this game.
We knew at halftime that it was going to come down to big plays in the fourth quarter. The defence stepped up and we made a couple of big plays.
They were completing the 50-50 balls and the receivers did a great job adjusting and making plays. We knew we had to make a big stop.
When I got that interception, I was just trying to play my man and trying to read DeMarco. Next thing I know, I came up with the ball.
Once I caught that ball, I saw daylight and there was one thing on my mind — don’t get caught and get a touchdown!

That was my first CFL touchdown and it felt great. There was a lot of space and I was by myself — I didn’t even know what to do at first.
As for the big win, our whole mindset this year has been Grey Cup, ever since training camp. We know we got there last year and we left with a bad taste in our mouth. We’re making a good stride to get to where we want be — our fate is in our own hands at the moment.
We’ve got a tough three games to finish off and we have to go out strong and go into the playoffs with the right mentality.
We won a battle, but haven’t won the war yet.
