Cornish: A personal best

David Moll

I felt really good. I knew the offensive line was feeling good. Anytime you have all those guys healthy, it really opens things up. The offensive line made it easy for me.

Having Joe West healthy really helped us because they couldn’t just stack the box when we have receiver sets like Joe and Mo.

Tonight I was able to reach a special personal best — my first 200-yard-plus in rushing.

I wanted 200 and got to do it on a nice run. I was ready to come out tonight and it showed.

I’m not trying to run up scores. I don’t care about individual statistics. Winning is the main thing, but it’s always nice to get to 200.

It wasn’t on my mind at all to try to match the team record of 238 yards in a single game. I was happy to just reach my own record.

I’m a little disappointed that I had a setback earlier this year. Missing a game, the mark I was aiming for, I won’t be able to get there, but I still want to see how many I can get.

We got a huge win as a team tonight, separating ourselves from the other teams in the division. Anytime you can control your own destiny, it’s beneficial.

We’re going to be playing great teams this next three weeks. Edmonton always wants to beat us, BC is going to have a chip on their shoulder and Saskatchewan probably wants vengeance from the last game.

It’s not going to be an easy four games. We’ll have to be prepared for them to throw everything at us.
