We probably made harder on us than it needed to be but Edmonton is a good fourth quarter team. We just didn’t execute like we should have down the stretch but we did find a way to pull it out. A win is a win and that’s all that matters.
It feels good to be back after missing some time to injury. Hopefully I can take this game, build on it and have some momentum. I want this to carry over into the rematch and for the rest of the season. It’s kind of frustrating to play one game, two games and then be out a couple games. So hopefully, the injuries are behind me and I can keep going.
We know that you can’t take a 1-7 team lightly. You could see that in our start, but towards the end we just didn’t do the things we needed to with a couple turnovers. We didn’t take them lightly; sometimes things just happen, and that’s football. But like I say, at the end of the day we won.
Tonight was the result of a lot of hard work and preparation. I want to give a lot of glory to God because without him this wouldn’t have been possible. I actually had extra incentive. My fiancée was in the stands for the first time — she came up from Florida — so I wanted to put up a good game for her and all my people watching back home. I’ve been hungry for one of these breakout games and I finally got one. It feels good and now I just want to build on it.
