Things went pretty good for us tonight. We started out fast, started out strong. But as is part of football, we had that tough swing where we had to fight through to come through and make the play we needed to win the game.
When they came at us in the third quarter, we just continued to play hard to come out and do what we knew we were capable of doing.
We knew they were going to make that run — they came out in the second half strong. We just had to be prepared to come out and match their intensity.
For us, tonight’s key was just about being prepared. I mean, regardless of what’s going on, you prepare hard and you have confidence in yourself as players and in your coaches have in the game plan, then you perform to the best of your abilities.
You don’t necessarily make big changes to play a team like Saskatchewan, it’s more or less about execution.
All teams do little things different at times but, at the end of the day, it’s all about execution and the players making the plays.
At the beginning of the season, I started out in Saskatchewan. Now I find myself on the other side of the field and it felt good tonight. I’m in a good spot and a blessed situation. I’m honoured to be here and just want to make the best of it.
Getting my opportunities tonight felt good. As a player, any time you get the ball in your hands, you want to make the best of your opportunities and just keep getting better.
Tonight was a great win, now it’s about the next game and getting that “W.”
