Stamps ink offensive linemen

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that non-import offensive lineman Spencer Wilson and import offensive lineman Junius Coston have signed contracts with the club. As per team policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“We had a good look at Spencer during training camp last year and we’re excited to have him back for this year’s camp,” said Hufnagel. “Junius, with his NFL and UFL experience, will also be a welcome addition in June.”

Wilson has spent the last three seasons with the Calgary Colts of the Prairie Football Conference. He has been named to the PFC’s All-Star Team in each of those seasons and, in 2010, was co-winner of the Keith Evans Trophy as most valuable lineman on the Colts. Wilson participated in Stampeders training camp in 2010. He is a product of Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary.

Coston has played professional football since 2005, suiting up in 16 games for the NFL’s Green Bay Packers from 2005-07. He spent time with the Oakland Raiders and Detroit Lions in 2008 and this past season was with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League.
